Ping Settings

 

The Webswitch has a Ping Watchdog function which can be used as an extra security. This function is quite common in network equipment.  It can be set to ping an IP address and when it does not get any answer, it will either make  a hard restart of the Webswitch itself, toggle a relay or toggle a relay and the restart the Webswitch itself. The status of the ping watchdog can be checked on the status page.

Enable ping watchdog Enables the function.
No = Function is disabled
Yes, test = Function enabled but it will not execute any action
, can be used for test.
Yes, action= Function is enabled.
IP address to ping IP address to ping is entered here, In normal cases
use the Gateway IP.
Ping Interval (seconds) Interval between the ping is sent.
(1-65535, default 300 s)
When using Nexa remotes it is recommended to use intervals of 30 or more seconds.
Action delay (seconds) Delay before the first ping is sent.
( 300-65535), default 300 s.
If Test mode is activated it can be set to 10-65535
Action Restart = Restarts the Webswitch itself.
Toggle relay = A relay is toggled.
Toggle relay + restart = Toggle a relay followed by a restart of the Webswitch itself.
Action relay Relay used to toggle if Action = Toggle relay. Version 3.3 and newer also supports Nexa remotes.
Toggle wait(secs) Relay activation time in seconds if Action = Toggle relay.
When using Nexa remotes it is recommended to use a toggle wait of at least 10 seconds.
Relay toggle high Yes=When toggle is active relay is closed, No=When toggle is active relay is open.
Failure count to action Number of failed pings before selected action is executed.
