- Remote Webswitches
This feature is only available in firmware version 4.0 HOME and above.
The Remote WS feature allows a Webswitch to use the inputs/sensors and outputs/relays(maximum 15 per Webswitch) devices from up to four other Webswitches extending both the number of available input/output devices as well as the location of them. The connection used between the Webswitches is network/Ethernet, not 1-wire.
To use Remote WS you need to know the host name/IP address of the other Webswitch, and optionally the username and password for accessing that Webswitch. Go to Scan remote Webswitch to perform a scan of the remote Webswitch’s devices:
After clicking Scan you will see something like this:
Just select the devices you want to use(up to 15 per remote Webswitch) and click Submit:
To see the status of the selected devices go to Remote Webswitches -> Settings/Status:
The page above shows the remote Webswitch devices in use and their status.
The column Updated shows when the device was last updated. Output devices are updated when their status changes. Input devices are normally updated every 60 seconds. The color of the text becomes red if the status is abnormal.
It also possible to delete devices by using the Action column.
After adding devices they become available for use like local input/output devices. Some examples:
Note that remote devices like relay 2 and Outside temp above have a # character added to the name due to being remote devices.
Note that due to the nature of the remote input/output devices they will not be ‘real time updated’ like local ones. Typically output devices will be updated within a few seconds while input devices normally are updated every 60 seconds. Also note that the more remote devices the longer update times you will see.
